New life, new blog

If you and I have kept up over the years, you probably know that my life today is completely different from my life when I started this blog. For that reason, I've decided to wipe it clean and start over! I would have started a completely new blog, but I really liked my template and my blog title, so I opted to delete my old posts instead. Slightly dramatic, yes, but I thought it was appropriate.

So here are the major updates:
  1. I decided to bypass graduate school and started working at a mobile tech startup called Pocket Change. I had some great coworkers and I learned a lot about the mobile gaming industry in a short amount of time.
  2. I'm now at a new company called mNectar, which is a rich media mobile advertising startup. It's at a much earlier stage than Pocket Change was, so I have a much bigger role, more responsibility, and higher expectations than before. It can be stressful, but I've already learned so much and our team is fantastic, so I'm really happy with where I am career-wise. Also, I'm in the cover photo of our website, which is cool. Well, part of me is in the photo. You can look for yourself.
  3. I moved into a beautiful new apartment in my favorite neighborhood in San Francisco! I absolutely love it and I feel extremely lucky to have found an apartment that I could afford in this area.
  4. I've been dating the most wonderful guy for a little while now, and he's been the most caring, supportive person since I met him. We were introduced through a mutual friend who had been trying to get me to meet him for a while, so she gets all the credit for her expert matchmaking. For the purposes of this blog, I will refer to him as B.
  5. One of my new hobbies is making ice cream! I even bought a bunch of paper pint containers so I can give ice cream as gifts to people. So far I've tried coffee, strawberry, mint chocolate chip, brown sugar cinnamon, and toblerone. Now that I'm comfortable with the custard base, I think I'm ready to start experimenting with more interesting flavors.
  6. I no longer hate on mac computers, but I'm still not a fan of iPhones. If you've known me for a while, this will probably come as a big shock to you.
My life is more interesting now, so hopefully I'll have a lot more to write about instead of only posting something every few months. I intend to write more about my day-to-day life, new music I'm into, recipes that I enjoy, product reviews, and hopefully more ukulele songs if I get around to recording anything new.

For my first new post, here are some things I've been listening to:

Chill electro-indie. I really like the laid-back sound that this song has.

Quirky indie pop. I was pretty obsessed with this band for a little while.

Self-labeled as "coincidence pop." Not sure what that means, but I like it.

Dreamy indie pop. I'll probably be posting a short uke cover of this song eventually.

Upbeat indie with an acoustic sound to it.

Cute indie pop. Super cheerful with bright guitars.

Another cheery indie pop song. Mixed up a little though with a slightly deep/dark tone.

Until next time!
